Transit

Public Transit is a popular way to get to and from campus.  Plan your journey using BCTransit’s transit system trip planner or look at a map of transit routes.

Full-time students automatically have unlimited access to the Kelowna Regional Transit System through the U-Pass program.  For more information about the U-Pass, contact the UBC Students’ Union Okanagan.

Seven bus routes link to the UBC transit exchange – three routes from the north (13, 23 and 90) and four from the south (4, 6, 8 and 97).   To know where to catch your bus, refer to this map of the UBC Okanagan transit exchange.

Students and visitors returning this September will appreciate improved frequency and number of routes that serve the campus. The City of Kelowna and BC Transit have made the following improvements to the frequency and number of routes:

  • The #6 Glenmore route offering express bus service from downtown Kelowna, via Glenmore, and across the new John Hindle Drive accompanied by extended service hours and frequency
  • Re-routing the #4 Pandosy/UBCO Express from Highway 97 to Academy Way
  • Extending #23 Lake Country service hours and frequency

BCTransit is the provincial transportation authority responsible for all regional transit options. All routes to UBC are operated by the Kelowna Regional Transit System, with the exception of route 90 which is operated by the Vernon Regional Transit System.
