Public Transit is an essential service for the UBC Okanagan community to get to and from campus.

Update for June 2021

UBC Okanagan is looking forward to a safe return to campus for students, staff and faculty this September.

Transit service to UBCO will be returning to pre-COVID levels this fall to provide the campus community with a viable transportation option to commute to and from the campus. This means that all suspended and reduced service routes will be back in operation.

Details on routes and schedules will be released by BC Transit mid-August.

Route Updates for Fall 2020

With transit ridership impacted by COVID-19, Kelowna Regional Transit is reducing the frequency of service to UBCO and suspending some routes temporarily until travel patterns resume. Changes include:

  • The #6 Glenmore route offering express bus service from downtown Kelowna, via Glenmore, and across John Hindle Drive accompanied by extended service hours and frequency
  • Re-routing the #4 Pandosy/UBCO Express from Highway 97 to Academy Way
  • Extending #23 Lake Country service hours and frequency
  • Suspending the #13 Quail Ridge route

Up-to-date information on routes and schedules can be found at by the Kelowna Regional Transit System, with the exception of route 90, which is operated by the Vernon Regional Transit System.

You can also plan your journey using BC Transit’s trip planner or look at a map of transit routes.

U-Pass Updates for Fall 2020

While all full-time students normally receive a U-Pass, a universal transportation pass that gives unlimited access to regional public transportation, there are some changes for fall 2020. Instead of an automatic process, the U-Pass program will be an opt-in model. Information on acquiring the U-Pass can be found at the UBC Students’ Union Okanagan.
